About Noah
Noah Galbreath is a saxophonist, singer, composer, and educator with knowledge and experience in many different musical fields. Originally from Southern Virginia, Noah found his passion playing the saxophone and picking up many other musical instruments from a young age and has continued to be a lifelong performer and educator ever since. Noah earned his bachelors's degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies from James Madison University in 2021 where he had the privilege to study jazz performance and composition with renowned pianist Bob Hallahan and voice with Dr. Jamison Walker. After completing his degree, Noah was quickly hired in the music education field and served as the band director and guitar instructor of King George Middle School in King George, Virginia until 2023. During this time, he continued his saxophone studies with Italian saxophonist Stefano Bedetti. While residing in Virginia, Noah was a fixture in the mid to Northern Virginia jazz scene and was a member of several groups including Cinematheque (surf-rock/exotica), The Noah Galbreath Quartet (jazz), The Harry Wilson Quintet (jazz), and Gryzzle - a jazz/rap group that he co-founded, composed, and booked for.
Since relocating to New York City, Noah has booked gigs as a leader as The Noah Galbreath Quartet and has established himself as a reliable call for many different genres such as jazz, rock, pop, latin/salsa, big band, church music, and many others. He is also the composer and bandleader for the 8-piece genre-fluid band Part-Time Samurai. He has performed as a sideman and a leader in several iconic NYC venues and festivals such as Brooklyn Bowl, Shapeshifter Lab, Nublu, Mercury Lounge, Rockaway Music Fest, and several other venues. Noah has taught in NYC for the past two years as a full-time public school teacher in choir, band, general music, and small group contexts. He continues to teach privately and has experience teaching beginning wind instruments, guitar, bass, and piano, intermediate flute, clarinet, and drumset, and advanced saxophone, voice, and jazz improvisation/composition.
